Unidine, New Milford Hospital and Plow To Plate
Through the innovative Plow To Plate initiative, New Milford Hospital implemented an award-winning in-room dining program that uses local ingredients whenever possible. Six local farms and a dairy cooperative provide fresh produce and ingredients for the chefs. Fresh herbs are gathered from the hospital's Healing Garden during the growing season. The New Milford Hospital dining program was featured in a Press Ganey Partners article, "Sustainable nutrition: A hospital makes food a care-quality imperative," that describes the dining program in detail, and shows how patient satisfaction improved and is now consistently ranked in the high 90s.
